July 14, 2008
The regular meeting of the Tecumseh Twp. Board was called to order at 7:00 P.M. Roll call was taken- present were, Supervisor Schlegel, Trustee Lamb, Clerk Brown, Trustee Feight and Treasurer Bunch. Attorney Brooks was also present. Supervisor Schlegel led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Guests were welcomed to the meeting by Supervisor Schlegel. Judith Holcomb from Lenawee County Conservation District Office informed the Board that the Annual Agricultural and Land Use Tour will be held on August 7th 2008 from 9A.M. - 4:15 P.M. The Tour starts from the Human Service Building at 1040 S. Winter St., Adrian. Lenawee County Commissioner David Stimpson also was present.
A motion to approve the minutes of the June 9, 2008 meeting was made by Lamb; seconded by Feight. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Brown to accept the Treasurer's report as presented and place it on file; seconded by Lamb. Motion carried.
A motion for the approval to pay the bills was made by Feight; seconded by Brown. Motion carried.
A motion to accept the Building Inspector's report was made by Bunch; seconded by Lamb. Motion carried.
Supervisor Schlegel reported to the Board that he has received complaints about junk in the yard on Macon Hwy. property. The Township Board decided to table any action until a later time because the property is about to change owners.
The Township Board decided to transfer funds to another bank to comply with prior financial audits so that funds are federally insured. Supervisor Schlegel will check for the best C.D. rates.
Clinton Township asked Tecumseh Township Board for additional financial help on their 24/7 recycling program. After some discussion the Tecumseh Township Board decided to table a decision until the county opens its planned recycling site.
The Township has had a total of seven calls for mosquito control treatments so far this year.
The Board is looking for a new Building Inspector due to our current building inspector moving. Supervisor Schlegel will talk to possible candidates and report back to the Board at the next meeting.
The Board discussed the River Raisin Watershed program. David Stimpson from the Lenawee County Board of Commissioners explained to the Board why the Commissioners voted not to pay dues to the River Raisin Watershed Council.
The Supervisor's report was given. Open discussion was held.
There being no further business, Lamb moved the meeting be adjourned at 8:10P.M.; seconded by Schlegel. Motion carried.
