Tecumseh Township


Is located in southeastern Michigan in the county of Lenawee. The township covers an area of 13.407 square miles with a population of 1881.

The site has been designed with information our residents and those interested in our community would find helpful. How to register to vote, obtain absentee ballots and important dates:

You can register at any Secretary of State's Office; the Lenawee County Clerk's Office or the Township Clerk's Office. You can also register by mail; forms are available through all State and Federal Offices. If you have any questions, please call our Clerk (Curt Brown 423-2284).

You must register by July 7th to be able to vote in the August 5th primary. You must register by October 6th to be able to vote in the November 4th election. Please keep in mind that if you register to vote by mail you must vote in person at your first election (will not be able to vote absentee).

To obtain an absentee ballot you can download the application by clicking HERE . They are also available at the law office of Mike Brooks in Tecumseh or call our Clerk Curt Brown and he will send one to you. These applications are available approx one (1) month prior to both the August and November elections.

These elections will be held at the Masonic Auditorium located at 700 Bishop Reed Drive (off Brown street) in Tecumseh.

Collection location is 3266 Gady Road-enter off Gady Road East of Occidental.

Although this is not considered an all inclusive list, we will accept at our collection site:

Rubber tires with rims removed we can not accept tractor tires)(we charge for tires w/rims)
Yard waste, grass, leaves bags with foreign materials will not be accepted)

WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ACCEPT:

Hazardous materials
includes propane tanks
oil based paint
oil, gasoline or similar products
building materials
burn barrels with ashes
ashes.

24/7 RECYCLING STATION FOR LENAWEE COUNTY RESIDENTS AT RAISIN TOWNSHIP HALL

There is a 24/7 recycling station located at the Raisin Township hall on the corner of Occidental hwy and Gady road. They will take the following items:

CANS- Steel and aluminum, please wash and flatten

PLASTICS- bottles and food containers #1 through #7, wash and remove caps and rings and flatten

NEWSPRINT- Magazines, newspapers, phone books and junk mail, bundled or loose or in paper bags (NO PLASTIC BAGS)

CARDBOARD- all types of cereal boxes, packaging cardboard etc. These must be FLATTENED to fit in the opening and maximize the container.

County Recycling locations and times

All Lenawee County residents are able to participate in our county recycling at the Macon Township hall on the 1st Saturday of each month.

Items received here are newspapers/magazines, cardboard, plastic, glass, Tin, mixed papers (office papers, phone books, junk mail).
