Monthly Minutes!

The regular meeting of the Tecumseh Township board was called to order by supervisor Schlegel at 7:00pm.
Supervisor Schlegel led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll call was taken- present were Trustee Feight, Treasurer Bunch and supervisor Schlegel. Absent were Trustee Lamb and Clerk Brown. Attorney Brooks was also present.A motion to approve the minutes of the April 11th meeting was made by Bunch and seconded by Feight. Motion carried.
The treasurer's report was reviewed and placed on file.
A motion for the approval to pay the bills was made by Feight and seconded by Schlegel. Motion carried. There was no building report.
A motion to suspend the regular meeting at 7:30pm and to go the public hearing was made by Schlegel and seconded by Feight. Motion carried.
Discussion was held on the proposed budget for the 2011-2012 year.
A motion was made to end the public hearing and return to the regular meeting by Schlegel and seconded by Bunch. Motion carried.
A motion to approve the 2011-2012 budget for $261,000 with changes to the election expense to $2,000 and removing the land split allowance of 50% of application fee was made by Schlegel. Seconded by Feight; Motion approved.
There was discussion regarding the new code red weather alert system for Lenawee county residents. This information is now on our web site and available for all Lenawee county residents.
The supervisors report was given. Work continues on a new fire contract with the City of Tecumseh, there is nothing new to report on the potential of the red mill pond dam becoming a drain district.
Discussion was held on 2011-2012 road work. The board discussed at its last meeting adding 401 limestone to Smith and Stone roads. With this being a joint project with primarily Macon Township the road commission has agreement with them to proceed with limestone only and no tiling. There was a motion by Schlegel to approve adding limestone to both Smith and Stone roads at a cost of $72,694.48. Seconded by Feight; Motion passed.
There being no further business, Schlegel moved the meeting to be adjourned at 7:50pm; seconded by Feight. Motion carried.
